ABOUT THE TEAM
Hi! We are Marcela & Mark, owners of INSPIRA. Since January 2025 INSPIRA is our home and our dream in the making: a regenerative farm, amidst the Tuscan rolling hills. After nearly 30 years in corporate business and city life, we found here the deep connection to nature we had been seeking.
We’re transforming this traditional eight-hectare organic farm into a permaculture haven — a space we’re eager to share with you. INSPIRA is a place to reconnect with nature, yourself, and others, a place for learning, collaboration, and renewal.
Our passion for nature and sustainable agriculture led us to leave city life behind. Though we were fortunate to have gardens to grow fruits and vegetables in our free time, it wasn’t enough. We longed to spend more time immersed in nature and to make a real difference through sustainable, respectful practices.
Now in our early 50s, we bring the energy and dedication to nurture this organic farm into a lush, thriving Farmstay.
Rooted in regenerative agriculture and permaculture design, we envision INSPIRA as a welcoming space for like-minded people to gather for retreats, workshops, and much more.

Marcela
Owner, Farmer and Artist
Hola! I'm Marcela. As a farmer, I'm committed to the sustainability and wellbeing of all creatures that are in contact with this space. As an artist, I like to take on the aesthetic aspect of projects around the farm, particularly: the Art in the Forest, the Mandala Garden, the Meditative and Education Paths, etc. My priority is to look after the guests, and to provide an enriching, healthy and harmonious environment.

Mark
Owner, Farmer and Permaculture Designer
Hi! I'm Mark. I am passionate about this project and I lead the Permaculture topics taking place on our farm. My focus is a harmonious co-living with nature and sharing this passion with others. I manage many aspects of the farm, but always with a deep conviction that doing things in a respectful, transparent and collaborative fashion is the secret to success.
ABOUT THE FARM
A reconnection sanctuary
Besides being a regenerative organic farm, the idea of INSPIRA is to provide a sanctuary for those seeking a natural and rejuvenating experience.
As of July 2026, our Farmstay (locally called "Agriturismo") will allow us to receive individual guests and groups, as well as host retreats of all kinds. Find out more under "Hospitality", or Contact us to find out more.

BUILDING A DREAM TO SHARE
DURING 2025:
At the beginning our farm was only open to receive visitors who wanted to learn by doing, (find out more in our Hospitality page).
OPEN FOR GUESTS & RETREATS AS OF JULY 2026:
During the first half of 2026, we are creating a Retreats Hospitality space for about 20 guests, including a beautiful setting for retreat groups, from yoga & meditation to coaching, or even art or sport groups touring the area. The project will be completed by July 2026.

WHAT IS PERMACULTURE?
A quick introduction
Have you ever dreamt of the perfect sustainable collaboration with nature, where one can farm food in a productive and manageable way, without depleting the soil or damaging ecosystems in and around it, but rather help them thrive?
How about having a garden or farm with plenty of wildlife, and still producing an abundance of healthy food for humans and animals alike?
In fact, nature already offers many solutions, and permaculture is a collection of design principles; a sort of manual to show us how to do it.
Permaculture is often described as Regenerative Farming and is a science in itself, but the basis for it is not complicated and most can be learnt by doing. Observation, as much as trial an error are key components. Of course, having an experienced advisor is surely helpful!

After a couple of courses and having the support of Mark's Permaculture Design Teacher, Marcus Pan (his school is called "Down to Earth" - linked here), we started this amazing adventure. We are implementing our "master plan" through a number of projects, and will surely add more as we move along. Some exciting Projects include a Food Forest, a Mandala Vegetable Garden, a Mobile Chicken Coop, a Wilderness Forest, and so much more.
